Some tips how to succeed during an Interview.

We know you are experienced, hard working, motivated ... and dependable worker. And you know it too. The time to show the Employer Who You Really Are is Interview. And being prepared is the key. Some tips how to succeed during an Interview...

Before...
-research the Company via the Internet, library or friends
-confirm time and address with your agent or secretary. Make sure parking is available

-select appropriate business clothing, do not overuse cologne or aftershaves
-have a pen that works, notepad and several copies of your resume
-have any educational certifictes, transcripts or references
-know what your strong points are and be ready to show work examples

During...
-arrive 5 minutes before - being earlier might disorganize interviewer's schedule
-demonstrate confidence; strong, enthusiastic handshake and smile show it
-sit in the chair that is indicated to you and try to relax...
-always refrain from smoking
-maintain eye contact with interviewer - it shows your respect and self-confidence
-listen carefully to each question and respond naturally and honestly
-if the question is not clear, ask for further clarification
-do not be negative about your last job or people
-be prepared to justify job changes
-give positive interpretation to any aspects in your record rather than making excuses
-when given opportunity ask questions about the job itself, the company or the industry
-do not discuss income unless asked, be cautious with figures, let the interviewer state an opinion and if dissatisfied wait for your consultant to negotiate
-impress the interviewer rather on what you have to offer, not what you want in return
-upon exiting the Interview, thank the interviewer for his/her time and let them know you are excited about the prospect of working for their company

 

 

Your attitude plays a huge role in the selection process. If you respond to questions with a positive, optimistic, enthusiastic, and energetic demeanor and show that you are flexible as well as capable you are way ahead to secure the job.
